Fortalt af Ibn `Umar: Profeten så noget spyt på væggen vendt mod moskeens Qibla og blev rasende på folket i moskeen og sagde: 'Under bønnen er Allah foran jer alle, og så bør man ikke spytte (eller sagde: Man bør ikke opspytte).' Så gik han ned og kradsede spyttet af med hånden. Ibn `Umar sagde (efter at have fortalt historien): 'Hvis nogen af ??jer skal spytte under bønnen, skal han spytte til venstre for sig.'
Engelsk:
Narrated Ibn `Umar:The Prophet (?) saw some sputum on the wall facing the Qibla of the mosque and became furious with
the people of the mosque and said, "During the prayer, Allah is in front of everyone of you and so he
should not spit (or said, He should not expectorate)." Then he got down and scratched the sputum
with his hand. Ibn `Umar said (after narrating), "If anyone of you has to spit during the prayer, he
should spit to his left."
Arabisk:
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَتَغَيَّظَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَقَالَ
" إِنَّ اللَّهَ قِبَلَ أَحَدِكُمْ، فَإِذَا كَانَ فِي صَلاَتِهِ، فَلاَ يَبْزُقَنَّ ـ أَوْ قَالَ ـ لاَ يَتَنَخَّمَنَّ ". ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَحَتَّهَا بِيَدِهِ. وَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ إِذَا بَزَقَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْزُقْ عَلَى يَسَارِهِ.

Fortalt af `Amra bint `Abdur-Rahman fra `Aisha: Allahs Sendebud nævnte, at han ville praktisere I`tikaf (isolation, red.) i de sidste ti dage af Ramadanen. `Aisha bad om hans tilladelse til at udføre I`tikaf, og han tillod hende. Hafsa bad `Aisha om at få hans tilladelse til hende og det gjorde hun. Da Zainab bint Jahsh så det, beordrede hun, at der skulle slås et telt op til hende og det blev slået op til hende. Allahs Sendebud plejede at gå til sit telt efter bønnen. Så han så teltene og spurgte: "Hvad er det?" Han fik at vide, at det var Aishas, ??Hafsa og Zainabs telte. Allahs Sendebud sagde: "Er det retfærdighed, de havde til hensigt at gøre det? Jeg vil ikke udføre I`tikaf." Så vendte han hjem. Da fastemåneden var overstået, udførte han Itikaf i ti dage i måneden Shawwal.

Narrated `Amra bint `Abdur-Rahman from `Aisha:Allahs Messenger (?) mentioned that he would practice I`tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan. `Aisha asked
his permission to perform I`tikaf and he permitted her. Hafsa asked `Aisha to take his permission for
her, and she did so. When Zainab bint Jahsh saw that, she ordered a tent to be pitched for her and it
was pitched for her. Allahs Messenger (?) used to proceed to his tent after the prayer. So, he saw the tents
ans asked, "What is this?" He was told that those were the tents of Aisha, Hafsa, and Zainab. Allahs
Apostle said, "Is it righteousness which they intended by doing so? I am not going to perform I`tikaf."
So he returned home. When the fasting month was over, he performed Itikar for ten days in the month
of Shawwal.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُقَاتِلٍ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي عَمْرَةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَكَرَ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ الْعَشْرَ الأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ، فَاسْتَأْذَنَتْهُ عَائِشَةُ فَأَذِنَ لَهَا، وَسَأَلَتْ حَفْصَةُ عَائِشَةَ أَنْ تَسْتَأْذِنَ لَهَا فَفَعَلَتْ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْ ذَلِكَ زَيْنَبُ ابْنَةُ جَحْشٍ أَمَرَتْ بِبِنَاءٍ فَبُنِيَ لَهَا قَالَتْ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا صَلَّى انْصَرَفَ إِلَى بِنَائِهِ فَبَصُرَ بِالأَبْنِيَةِ فَقَالَ " مَا هَذَا ". قَالُوا بِنَاءُ عَائِشَةَ وَحَفْصَةَ وَزَيْنَبَ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " آلْبِرَّ أَرَدْنَ بِهَذَا مَا أَنَا بِمُعْتَكِفٍ ". فَرَجَعَ، فَلَمَّا أَفْطَرَ اعْتَكَفَ عَشْرًا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ.
