Narrated Abu Dhar:Allahs Messenger (?) said, "While I was at Mecca the roof of my house was opened and Gabriel descended,
opened my chest, and washed it with Zamzam water. Then he brought a golden tray full of wisdom
and faith and having poured its contents into my chest, he closed it. Then he took my hand and
ascended with me to the nearest heaven, when I reached the nearest heaven, Gabriel said to the
gatekeeper of the heaven, Open (the gate). The gatekeeper asked, Who is it? Gabriel answered:
Gabriel. He asked, Is there anyone with you? Gabriel replied, Yes, Muhammad I is with me. He
asked, Has he been called? Gabriel said, Yes. So the gate was opened and we went over the nearest
heaven and there we saw a man sitting with some people on his right and some on his left. When he
looked towards his right, he laughed and when he looked toward his left he wept. Then he said,
Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious son. I asked Gabriel, Who is he? He replied, He is Adam and
the people on his right and left are the souls of his offspring. Those on his right are the people of
Paradise and those on his left are the people of Hell and when he looks towards his right he laughs and
when he looks towards his left he weeps.
Then he ascended with me till he reached the second heaven and he (Gabriel) said to its gatekeeper,
Open (the gate). The gatekeeper said to him the same as the gatekeeper of the first heaven had said
and he opened the gate. Anas said: "Abu Dhar added that the Prophet (?) met Adam, Idris, Moses, Jesus
and Abraham, he (Abu Dhar) did not mention on which heaven they were but he mentioned that he
(the Prophet (?) ) met Adam on the nearest heaven and Abraham on the sixth heaven. Anas said, "When
Gabriel along with the Prophet (?) passed by Idris, the latter said, Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious
brother. The Prophet (?) asked, Who is he? Gabriel replied, He is Idris." The Prophet (?) added, "I passed
by Moses and he said, Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious brother. I asked Gabriel, Who is he?
Gabriel replied, He is Moses. Then I passed by Jesus and he said, Welcome! O pious brother and
pious Prophet. I asked, Who is he? Gabriel replied, He is Jesus.
Then I passed by Abraham and he said, Welcome! O pious Prophet and pious son. I asked Gabriel,
Who is he? Gabriel replied, He is Abraham. The Prophet (?) added, Then Gabriel ascended with me to a
place where I heard the creaking of the pens." Ibn Hazm and Anas bin Malik said: The Prophet (?) said,
"Then Allah enjoined fifty prayers on my followers when I returned with this order of Allah, I passed
by Moses who asked me, What has Allah enjoined on your followers? I replied, He has enjoined
fifty prayers on them. Moses said, Go back to your Lord (and appeal for reduction) for your followers
will not be able to bear it. (So I went back to Allah and requested for reduction) and He reduced it to
half. When I passed by Moses again and informed him about it, he said, Go back to your Lord as your
followers will not be able to bear it. So I returned to Allah and requested for further reduction and
half of it was reduced. I again passed by Moses and he said to me: Return to your Lord, for your
followers will not be able to bear it. So I returned to Allah and He said, These are five prayers and
they are all (equal to) fifty (in reward) for My Word does not change. I returned to Moses and he told
me to go back once again. I replied, Now I feel shy of asking my Lord again. Then Gabriel took me
till we reached Sidrat-il-Muntaha (Lote tree of; the utmost boundary) which was shrouded in colors,
indescribable. Then I was admitted into Paradise where I found small (tents or) walls (made) of pearls
and its earth was of musk."

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ كَانَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " فُرِجَ عَنْ سَقْفِ بَيْتِي وَأَنَا بِمَكَّةَ، فَنَزَلَ جِبْرِيلُ فَفَرَجَ صَدْرِي، ثُمَّ غَسَلَهُ بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ بِطَسْتٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُمْتَلِئٍ حِكْمَةً وَإِيمَانًا، فَأَفْرَغَهُ فِي صَدْرِي ثُمَّ أَطْبَقَهُ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَعَرَجَ بِي إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا، فَلَمَّا جِئْتُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ لِخَازِنِ السَّمَاءِ افْتَحْ. قَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ. قَالَ هَلْ مَعَكَ أَحَدٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ مَعِي مُحَمَّدٌ صلى الله عليه وسلم. فَقَالَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ. فَلَمَّا فَتَحَ عَلَوْنَا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ قَاعِدٌ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ أَسْوِدَةٌ وَعَلَى يَسَارِهِ أَسْوِدَةٌ، إِذَا نَظَرَ قِبَلَ يَمِينِهِ ضَحِكَ، وَإِذَا نَظَرَ قِبَلَ يَسَارِهِ بَكَى، فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ وَالاِبْنِ الصَّالِحِ. قُلْتُ لِجِبْرِيلَ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا آدَمُ. وَهَذِهِ الأَسْوِدَةُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَشِمَالِهِ نَسَمُ بَنِيهِ، فَأَهْلُ الْيَمِينِ مِنْهُمْ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ، وَالأَسْوِدَةُ الَّتِي عَنْ شِمَالِهِ أَهْلُ النَّارِ، فَإِذَا نَظَرَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ضَحِكَ، وَإِذَا نَظَرَ قِبَلَ شِمَالِهِ بَكَى، حَتَّى عَرَجَ بِي إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَقَالَ لِخَازِنِهَا افْتَحْ. فَقَالَ لَهُ خَازِنُهَا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الأَوَّلُ فَفَتَحَ ". قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ آدَمَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَمُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ ـ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ ـ وَلَمْ يُثْبِتْ كَيْفَ مَنَازِلُهُمْ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ آدَمَ فِي السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ. قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَلَمَّا مَرَّ جِبْرِيلُ بِالنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِإِدْرِيسَ قَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ وَالأَخِ الصَّالِحِ. فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا إِدْرِيسُ. ثُمَّ مَرَرْتُ بِمُوسَى فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ وَالأَخِ الصَّالِحِ. قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا مُوسَى. ثُمَّ مَرَرْتُ بِعِيسَى فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالأَخِ الصَّالِحِ وَالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ. قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا عِيسَى. ثُمَّ مَرَرْتُ بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِالنَّبِيِّ الصَّالِحِ وَالاِبْنِ الصَّالِحِ. قُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ هَذَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ صلى الله عليه وسلم ". قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَأَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ حَزْمٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَأَبَا حَبَّةَ الأَنْصَارِيَّ كَانَا يَقُولاَنِ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " ثُمَّ عُرِجَ بِي حَتَّى ظَهَرْتُ لِمُسْتَوًى أَسْمَعُ فِيهِ صَرِيفَ الأَقْلاَمِ ". قَالَ ابْنُ حَزْمٍ وَأَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " فَفَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي خَمْسِينَ صَلاَةً، فَرَجَعْتُ بِذَلِكَ حَتَّى مَرَرْتُ عَلَى مُوسَى فَقَالَ مَا فَرَضَ اللَّهُ لَكَ عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ قُلْتُ فَرَضَ خَمْسِينَ صَلاَةً. قَالَ فَارْجِعْ إِلَى رَبِّكَ، فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لاَ تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ. فَرَاجَعْتُ فَوَضَعَ شَطْرَهَا، فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى مُوسَى قُلْتُ وَضَعَ شَطْرَهَا. فَقَالَ رَاجِعْ رَبَّكَ، فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لاَ تُطِيقُ، فَرَاجَعْتُ فَوَضَعَ شَطْرَهَا، فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ ارْجِعْ إِلَى رَبِّكَ، فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لاَ تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ، فَرَاجَعْتُهُ. فَقَالَ هِيَ خَمْسٌ وَهْىَ خَمْسُونَ، لاَ يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ. فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى مُوسَى فَقَالَ رَاجِعْ رَبَّكَ. فَقُلْتُ اسْتَحْيَيْتُ مِنْ رَبِّي. ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ بِي حَتَّى انْتَهَى بِي إِلَى سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهَى، وَغَشِيَهَا أَلْوَانٌ لاَ أَدْرِي مَا هِيَ، ثُمَّ أُدْخِلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ، فَإِذَا فِيهَا حَبَايِلُ اللُّؤْلُؤِ، وَإِذَا تُرَابُهَا الْمِسْكُ ".

gate-keeper of the (Hell) Fire and Ad-Dajjal amongst the signs which Allah showed me." (The
Prophet then recited the Holy Verse): "So be not you in doubt of meeting him when you met Moses
during the night of Miraj over the heavens" (32.23)
Narrated Anas and Abu Bakra: "The Prophet (?) said, "The angels will guard Medina from Ad-Dajjal
(who will not be able to enter the city of Medina).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ،. وَقَالَ لِي خَلِيفَةُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَمِّ، نَبِيِّكُمْ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " رَأَيْتُ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِي مُوسَى رَجُلاً آدَمَ طُوَالاً جَعْدًا، كَأَنَّهُ مِنْ رِجَالِ شَنُوءَةَ، وَرَأَيْتُ عِيسَى رَجُلاً مَرْبُوعًا مَرْبُوعَ الْخَلْقِ إِلَى الْحُمْرَةِ وَالْبَيَاضِ، سَبْطَ الرَّأْسِ، وَرَأَيْتُ مَالِكًا خَازِنَ النَّارِ ". وَالدَّجَّالَ فِي آيَاتٍ أَرَاهُنَّ اللَّهُ إِيَّاهُ، فَلاَ تَكُنْ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِنْ لِقَائِهِ. قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَأَبُو بَكْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " تَحْرُسُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ الْمَدِينَةَ مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ ".

Så steg Gabriel op (med ham) til den anden himmel, og englene stillede de samme spørgsmål som dem på den første himmel, dvs. "Hvem er det?" Gabriel svarede: "Gabriel". De spurgte: "Hvem er med dig?" Han sagde: "Muhammed." De spurgte: "Er der blevet sendt bud efter ham?" Han sagde: "Ja." Så sagde de: "Han er velkommen." Så steg han (Gabriel) op med profeten til den tredje himmel, og englene sagde det samme som englene fra den første og anden himmel havde sagt. Derefter steg han op med ham til den fjerde himmel, og de sagde det samme og så steg han op med ham til den femte himmel, og de sagde det samme, og så steg han op med ham til den sjette himmel, og de sagde det samme; så steg han op med ham til den syvende himmel, og de sagde det samme. I himlen var der profeter, hvis navne han havde nævnt, og af hvilke jeg husker Idris i den anden himmel, Aron i den fjerde himmel, en anden profet, hvis navn jeg ikke husker, i den femte himmel, Abraham i den sjette himmel og Moses i den syvende himmel på grund af hans privilegium af at tale direkte med Allah. Moses sagde (til Allah), "O Herre! Jeg troede, at ingen ville blive rejst op over mig." Men Gabriel steg op med ham (profeten) et stykke over det, hvis afstand kun Allah kender, indtil han nåede Lote-træet (udover hvilket ingen må passere) og derefter nærmede den uimodståelige, Æresherren og Majestæten sig og kom tættere på, indtil han (Gabriel) var omkring to buelængder eller (endnu) nærmere. (Det siges, at det var Gabriel, der nærmede sig og kom tættere på profeten. (Fate Al- Bari Side 263, 264, bind 17). Blandt de ting, som Allah åbenbarede for ham dengang, var: "Heltredsindstyve bønner blev påbudt hans tilhængere på en dag og en nat." Så kom profeten ned, indtil han mødte Moses og så stoppede Moses ham og spurgte: "O Muhammed! Hvad befalede din Herre dig?" Profeten svarede," Han pålagde mig at udføre halvtreds bønner på en dag og en nat." Moses sagde: "Dine tilhængere kan ikke gøre det; gå tilbage, så din Herre kan reducere det for dig og for dem." Så profeten vendte sig mod Gabriel, som om han ville rådføre sig med ham om det spørgsmål. Gabriel fortalte ham om hans mening og sagde: "Ja, hvis du vil." Så Gabriel steg op med ham til den uimodståelige og sagde, mens han var på sit sted: "O Herre, vær venlig at lette vores byrde, da mine tilhængere ikke kan gøre det." Så Allah fjernede for ham ti bønner, hvorefter han vendte tilbage til Moses, som stoppede ham igen og blev ved med at sende ham tilbage til hans Herre indtil de påbudte bønner blev reduceret til kun fem bønner. Så stoppede Moses ham, da bønnerne var blevet reduceret til fem og sagde: "O Muhammed! Ved Allah, jeg forsøgte at overtale min nation, Bani Israel til at gøre mindre end dette, men de kunne ikke gøre det og opgav det. Men dine tilhængere er svagere i krop, hjerte, syn og hørelse, så vend tilbage til din Herre, så han kan lette din byrde." Profeten vendte sig mod Gabriel for at få råd, og det afviste Gabriel ikke. Narrated Anas bin Malik:The night Allahs Messenger (?) was taken for a journey from the sacred mosque (of Mecca) Al-Ka`ba:
Three persons came to him (in a dreamy while he was sleeping in the Sacred Mosque before the
Divine Inspiration was revealed to Him. One of them said, "Which of them is he?" The middle
(second) angel said, "He is the best of them." The last (third) angle said, "Take the best of them." Only
that much happened on that night and he did not see them till they came on another night, i.e. after
The Divine Inspiration was revealed to him. (Fath-ul-Bari Page 258, Vol. 17) and he saw them, his
eyes were asleep but his heart was not----and so is the case with the prophets: their eyes sleep while
their hearts do not sleep. So those angels did not talk to him till they carried him and placed him
beside the well of Zamzam. From among them Gabriel took charge of him. Gabriel cut open (the part
of his body) between his throat and the middle of his chest (heart) and took all the material out of his
chest and `Abdomen and then washed it with Zamzam water with his own hands till he cleansed the
inside of his body, and then a gold tray containing a gold bowl full of belief and wisdom was brought
and then Gabriel stuffed his chest and throat blood vessels with it and then closed it (the chest). He
then ascended with him to the heaven of the world and knocked on one of its doors.
The dwellers of the Heaven asked, Who is it? He said, "Gabriel." They said, "Who is accompanying
you?" He said, "Muhammad." They said, "Has he been called?" He said, "Yes" They said, "He is
welcomed." So the dwellers of the Heaven became pleased with his arrival, and they did not know
what Allah would do to the Prophet (?) on earth unless Allah informed them. The Prophet (?) met Adam over
the nearest Heaven. Gabriel said to the Prophet, "He is your father; greet him." The Prophet (?) greeted
him and Adam returned his greeting and said, "Welcome, O my Son! O what a good son you are!"
Behold, he saw two flowing rivers, while he was in the nearest sky. He asked, "What are these two
rivers, O Gabriel?" Gabriel said, "These are the sources of the Nile and the Euphrates."
Then Gabriel took him around that Heaven and behold, he saw another river at the bank of which
there was a palace built of pearls and emerald. He put his hand into the river and found its mud like
musk Adhfar. He asked, "What is this, O Gabriel?" Gabriel said, "This is the Kauthar which your Lord
has kept for you." Then Gabriel ascended (with him) to the second Heaven and the angels asked the
same questions as those on the first Heaven, i.e., "Who is it?" Gabriel replied, "Gabriel". They asked,
"Who is accompanying you?" He said, "Muhammad." They asked, "Has he been sent for?" He said,
"Yes." Then they said, "He is welcomed. Then he (Gabriel) ascended with the Prophet (?) to the third
Heaven, and the angels said the same as the angels of the first and the second Heavens had said.
Then he ascended with him to the fourth Heaven and they said the same; and then he ascended with
him to the fifth Heaven and they said the same; and then he ascended with him to the sixth Heaven
and they said the same; then he ascended with him to the seventh Heaven and they said the same. On
each Heaven there were prophets whose names he had mentioned and of whom I remember Idris on
the second Heaven, Aaron on the fourth Heavens another prophet whose name I dont remember, on
the fifth Heaven, Abraham on the sixth Heaven, and Moses on the seventh Heaven because of his
privilege of talking to Allah directly. Moses said (to Allah), "O Lord! I thought that none would be
raised up above me."
But Gabriel ascended with him (the Prophet) for a distance above that, the distance of which only
Allah knows, till he reached the Lote Tree (beyond which none may pass) and then the Irresistible, the
Lord of Honor and Majesty approached and came closer till he (Gabriel) was about two bow lengths
or (even) nearer. (It is said that it was Gabriel who approached and came closer to the Prophet. (Fate
Al-Bari Page 263, 264, Vol. 17). Among the things which Allah revealed to him then, was: "Fifty
prayers were enjoined on his followers in a day and a night."
Then the Prophet (?) descended till he met Moses, and then Moses stopped him and asked, "O
Muhammad ! What did your Lord en join upon you?" The Prophet (?) replied," He enjoined upon me to
perform fifty prayers in a day and a night." Moses said, "Your followers cannot do that; Go back so
that your Lord may reduce it for you and for them." So the Prophet (?) turned to Gabriel as if he wanted
to consult him about that issue. Gabriel told him of his opinion, saying, "Yes, if you wish." So Gabriel
ascended with him to the Irresistible and said while he was in his place, "O Lord, please lighten our
burden as my followers cannot do that." So Allah deducted for him ten prayers where upon he
returned to Moses who stopped him again and kept on sending him back to his Lord till the enjoined
prayers were reduced to only five prayers.
Then Moses stopped him when the prayers had been reduced to five and said, "O Muhammad! By
Allah, I tried to persuade my nation, Bani Israel to do less than this, but they could not do it and gave
it up. However, your followers are weaker in body, heart, sight and hearing, so return to your Lord so
that He may lighten your burden."
The Prophet (?) turned towards Gabriel for advice and Gabriel did not disapprove of that. So he ascended
with him for the fifth time. The Prophet (?) said, "O Lord, my followers are weak in their bodies, hearts,
hearing and constitution, so lighten our burden." On that the Irresistible said, "O Muhammad!" the
Prophet replied, "Labbaik and Sa`daik." Allah said, "The Word that comes from Me does not change,
so it will be as I enjoined on you in the Mother of the Book." Allah added, "Every good deed will be
rewarded as ten times so it is fifty (prayers) in the Mother of the Book (in reward) but you are to
perform only five (in practice)."
The Prophet (?) returned to Moses who asked, "What have you done?" He said, "He has lightened our
burden: He has given us for every good deed a tenfold reward." Moses said, "By Allah! I tried to
make Bani Israel observe less than that, but they gave it up. So go back to your Lord that He may
lighten your burden further." Allahs Messenger (?) said, "O Moses! By Allah, I feel shy of returning too
many times to my Lord." On that Gabriel said, "Descend in Allahs Name." The Prophet (?) then woke
while he was in the Sacred Mosque (at Mecca).

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ، عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ مَسْجِدِ الْكَعْبَةِ أَنَّهُ جَاءَهُ ثَلاَثَةُ نَفَرٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ وَهْوَ نَائِمٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ، فَقَالَ أَوَّلُهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ هُوَ فَقَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ هُوَ خَيْرُهُمْ. فَقَالَ آخِرُهُمْ خُذُوا خَيْرَهُمْ. فَكَانَتْ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةَ، فَلَمْ يَرَهُمْ حَتَّى أَتَوْهُ لَيْلَةً أُخْرَى فِيمَا يَرَى قَلْبُهُ، وَتَنَامُ عَيْنُهُ وَلاَ يَنَامُ قَلْبُهُ وَكَذَلِكَ الأَنْبِيَاءُ تَنَامُ أَعْيُنُهُمْ وَلاَ تَنَامُ قُلُوبُهُمْ، فَلَمْ يُكَلِّمُوهُ حَتَّى احْتَمَلُوهُ فَوَضَعُوهُ عِنْدَ بِئْرِ زَمْزَمَ فَتَوَلاَّهُ مِنْهُمْ جِبْرِيلُ فَشَقَّ جِبْرِيلُ مَا بَيْنَ نَحْرِهِ إِلَى لَبَّتِهِ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ صَدْرِهِ وَجَوْفِهِ، فَغَسَلَهُ مِنْ مَاءِ زَمْزَمَ بِيَدِهِ، حَتَّى أَنْقَى جَوْفَهُ، ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِطَسْتٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فِيهِ تَوْرٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مَحْشُوًّا إِيمَانًا وَحِكْمَةً، فَحَشَا بِهِ صَدْرَهُ وَلَغَادِيدَهُ ـ يَعْنِي عُرُوقَ حَلْقِهِ ـ ثُمَّ أَطْبَقَهُ ثُمَّ عَرَجَ بِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَضَرَبَ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِهَا فَنَادَاهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ مَنْ هَذَا فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ. قَالُوا وَمَنْ مَعَكَ قَالَ مَعِي مُحَمَّدٌ. قَالَ وَقَدْ بُعِثَ قَالَ نَعَمْ. قَالُوا فَمَرْحَبًا بِهِ وَأَهْلاً. فَيَسْتَبْشِرُ بِهِ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ، لاَ يَعْلَمُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِهِ فِي الأَرْضِ حَتَّى يُعْلِمَهُمْ، فَوَجَدَ فِي السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا آدَمَ فَقَالَ لَهُ جِبْرِيلُ هَذَا أَبُوكَ فَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْهِ. فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ وَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ آدَمُ وَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا وَأَهْلاً بِابْنِي، نِعْمَ الاِبْنُ أَنْتَ. فَإِذَا هُوَ فِي السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا بِنَهَرَيْنِ يَطَّرِدَانِ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَانِ النَّهَرَانِ يَا جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ هَذَا النِّيلُ وَالْفُرَاتُ عُنْصُرُهُمَا. ثُمَّ مَضَى بِهِ فِي السَّمَاءِ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِنَهَرٍ آخَرَ عَلَيْهِ قَصْرٌ مِنْ لُؤْلُؤٍ وَزَبَرْجَدٍ فَضَرَبَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ مِسْكٌ قَالَ مَا هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ هَذَا الْكَوْثَرُ الَّذِي خَبَأَ لَكَ رَبُّكَ. ثُمَّ عَرَجَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَقَالَتِ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ لَهُ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَتْ لَهُ الأُولَى مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ جِبْرِيلُ. قَالُوا وَمَنْ مَعَكَ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ صلى الله عليه وسلم. قَالُوا وَقَدْ بُعِثَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ. قَالُوا مَرْحَبًا بِهِ وَأَهْلاً. ثُمَّ عَرَجَ بِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الثَّالِثَةِ وَقَالُوا لَهُ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَتِ الأُولَى وَالثَّانِيَةُ، ثُمَّ عَرَجَ بِهِ إِلَى الرَّابِعَةِ فَقَالُوا لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ عَرَجَ بِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الْخَامِسَةِ فَقَالُوا مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ عَرَجَ بِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ فَقَالُوا لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ عَرَجَ بِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ السَّابِعَةِ فَقَالُوا لَهُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، كُلُّ سَمَاءٍ فِيهَا أَنْبِيَاءُ قَدْ سَمَّاهُمْ فَأَوْعَيْتُ مِنْهُمْ إِدْرِيسَ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ، وَهَارُونَ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ، وَآخَرَ فِي الْخَامِسَةِ لَمْ أَحْفَظِ اسْمَهُ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ فِي السَّادِسَةِ، وَمُوسَى فِي السَّابِعَةِ بِتَفْضِيلِ كَلاَمِ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ مُوسَى رَبِّ لَمْ أَظُنَّ أَنْ يُرْفَعَ عَلَىَّ أَحَدٌ. ثُمَّ عَلاَ بِهِ فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ بِمَا لاَ يَعْلَمُهُ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، حَتَّى جَاءَ سِدْرَةَ الْمُنْتَهَى وَدَنَا الْجَبَّارُ رَبُّ الْعِزَّةِ فَتَدَلَّى حَتَّى كَانَ مِنْهُ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ فِيمَا أَوْحَى إِلَيْهِ خَمْسِينَ صَلاَةً عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ. ثُمَّ هَبَطَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ مُوسَى فَاحْتَبَسَهُ مُوسَى فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَاذَا عَهِدَ إِلَيْكَ رَبُّكَ قَالَ عَهِدَ إِلَىَّ خَمْسِينَ صَلاَةً كُلَّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ. قَالَ إِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لاَ تَسْتَطِيعُ ذَلِكَ فَارْجِعْ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ عَنْكَ رَبُّكَ وَعَنْهُمْ. فَالْتَفَتَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَى جِبْرِيلَ كَأَنَّهُ يَسْتَشِيرُهُ فِي ذَلِكَ، فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ جِبْرِيلُ أَنْ نَعَمْ إِنْ شِئْتَ. فَعَلاَ بِهِ إِلَى الْجَبَّارِ فَقَالَ وَهْوَ مَكَانَهُ يَا رَبِّ خَفِّفْ عَنَّا، فَإِنَّ أُمَّتِي لاَ تَسْتَطِيعُ هَذَا. فَوَضَعَ عَنْهُ عَشْرَ صَلَوَاتٍ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى مُوسَى فَاحْتَبَسَهُ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يُرَدِّدُهُ مُوسَى إِلَى رَبِّهِ حَتَّى صَارَتْ إِلَى خَمْسِ صَلَوَاتٍ، ثُمَّ احْتَبَسَهُ مُوسَى عِنْدَ الْخَمْسِ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ رَاوَدْتُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ قَوْمِي عَلَى أَدْنَى مِنْ هَذَا فَضَعُفُوا فَتَرَكُوهُ فَأُمَّتُكَ أَضْعَفُ أَجْسَادًا وَقُلُوبًا وَأَبْدَانًا وَأَبْصَارًا وَأَسْمَاعًا، فَارْجِعْ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ عَنْكَ رَبُّكَ، كُلَّ ذَلِكَ يَلْتَفِتُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَى جِبْرِيلَ لِيُشِيرَ عَلَيْهِ وَلاَ يَكْرَهُ ذَلِكَ جِبْرِيلُ، فَرَفَعَهُ عِنْدَ الْخَامِسَةِ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ أُمَّتِي ضُعَفَاءُ أَجْسَادُهُمْ وَقُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسْمَاعُهُمْ وَأَبْدَانُهُمْ فَخَفِّفْ عَنَّا فَقَالَ الْجَبَّارُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ. قَالَ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ. قَالَ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ، كَمَا فَرَضْتُ عَلَيْكَ فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ ـ قَالَ ـ فَكُلُّ حَسَنَةٍ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا، فَهْىَ خَمْسُونَ فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ وَهْىَ خَمْسٌ عَلَيْكَ. فَرَجَعَ إِلَى مُوسَى فَقَالَ كَيْفَ فَعَلْتَ فَقَالَ خَفَّفَ عَنَّا أَعْطَانَا بِكُلِّ حَسَنَةٍ عَشْرَ أَمْثَالِهَا. قَالَ مُوسَى قَدْ وَاللَّهِ رَاوَدْتُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عَلَى أَدْنَى مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَتَرَكُوهُ، ارْجِعْ إِلَى رَبِّكَ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ عَنْكَ أَيْضًا. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَا مُوسَى قَدْ وَاللَّهِ اسْتَحْيَيْتُ مِنْ رَبِّي مِمَّا اخْتَلَفْتُ إِلَيْهِ. قَالَ فَاهْبِطْ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ. قَالَ وَاسْتَيْقَظَ وَهْوَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ.
