Az-Zuhri fortalte, at Malik ibn Aws sagde: "Hvem har byttepenge?" Talhah sagde: "Jeg vil vente, indtil vores skatmester kommer fra skoven."
Sufyan sagde: "Det er, hvad vi har lært udenad fra Az-Zuhri, uden tilføjelser."
Han sagde: "Malik ibn Aws informerede mig om, at han hørte Umar ibn Al-Khattab sige: Allahs Sendebud sagde: "Guld for guld er åger, undtagen ha og ha. Hvede for hvede er åger, undtagen ha og ha. Dadler for dadler er åger, undtagen ha og ha. Byg for byg er åger, undtagen ha og ha." (skal formentlig forstås sådan, at handel med varer skal foregå én til én, dvs. at hvis du sælger 1kg byg, så skal det koste 1kg byg, hverken mere eller mindre, red.)
Engelsk:
Narrated Az-Zuhri from Malik bin Aus:That the latter said, "Who has change?" Talha said, "I (will have change) when our storekeeper comes
from the forest."
Malik bin Aus narrated from `Umar bin Al-Khattab: Allahs Messenger (?) said, "The bartering of gold for gold is Riba
(usury), except if it is from hand to hand and equal in amount, and wheat grain for wheat grain is
usury except if it is form hand to hand and equal in amount, and dates for dates is usury except if it is
from hand to hand and equal in amount, and barley for barley is usury except if it is from hand to hand
and equal in amount."
Arabisk:
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، كَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ يُحَدِّثُهُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ عِنْدَهُ صَرْفٌ فَقَالَ طَلْحَةُ أَنَا حَتَّى يَجِيءَ خَازِنُنَا مِنَ الْغَابَةِ. قَالَ سُفْيَانُ هُوَ الَّذِي حَفِظْنَاهُ مِنَ الزُّهْرِيِّ لَيْسَ فِيهِ زِيَادَةٌ. فَقَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَوْسٍ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يُخْبِرُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ رِبًا إِلاَّ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ، وَالْبُرُّ بِالْبُرِّ رِبًا إِلاَّ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ، وَالتَّمْرُ بِالتَّمْرِ رِبًا إِلاَّ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ، وَالشَّعِيرُ بِالشَّعِيرِ رِبًا إِلاَّ هَاءَ وَهَاءَ ".

Abu Salih Az-Zaiiyat fortalte: Jeg hørte Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri sige: 'Det er tilladt at sælge en dinar for en dinar og en dirham for en dirham.' Jeg sagde til ham: 'Ibn `Abbas siger ikke det samme.' Abu Sa`id svarede: 'Jeg spurgte Ibn `Abbas, om han havde hørt det fra profeten eller set det i den hellige bog. Ibn `Abbas svarede: 'Det påstår jeg ikke, og du kender Allahs sendebud bedre end jeg, men Usama fortalte mig, at profeten havde sagt: Der er ingen åger, undtagen ved forskudt betaling.'

Narrated Abu Salih Az-Zaiyat:I heard Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri saying, "The selling of a Dinar for a Dinar, and a Dirham for a Dirham
(is permissible)." I said to him, "Ibn `Abbas does not say the same." Abu Sa`id replied, "I asked Ibn
`Abbas whether he had heard it from the Prophet (?) s or seen it in the Holy Book. Ibn `Abbas replied, "I
do not claim that, and you know Allahs Messenger (?) better than I, but Usama informed me that the
Prophet had said, There is no Riba (in money exchange) except when it is not done from hand to hand
(i.e. when there is delay in payment). "

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا صَالِحٍ الزَّيَّاتَ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَقُولُ الدِّينَارُ بِالدِّينَارِ، وَالدِّرْهَمُ بِالدِّرْهَمِ. فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَإِنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ لاَ يَقُولُهُ. فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ سَأَلْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ، صلى الله عليه وسلم، أَوْ وَجَدْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لاَ أَقُولُ، وَأَنْتُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنِّي، وَلَكِنَّنِي أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" لاَ رِبًا إِلاَّ فِي النَّسِيئَةِ ".
