Fortalt af `Aisha: På dagen for Al-Khandaq (slaget ved skyttegraven) blev Sa`d bin Mu`ads middelarmsvene såret, og profeten slog et telt op i moskeen for at passe på ham. Der var endnu et telt til Banu Ghaffar i moskeen, og blodet begyndte at strømme fra Sa`ds telt til Bani Ghaffars telt. De råbte: "O beboere i teltet! Hvad kommer der fra jer til os?" De fandt at Sa`d's sår blødte voldsomt og Sa`d døde i sit telt.

Narrated `Aisha:On the day of Al-Khandaq (battle of the Trench the medial arm vein of Sa`d bin Mu`ad [??] was
injured and the Prophet (?) pitched a tent in the mosque to look after him. There was another tent for
Banu Ghaffar in the mosque and the blood started flowing from Sa`ds tent to the tent of Bani Ghaffar.
They shouted, "O occupants of the tent! What is coming from you to us?" They found that Sa`d
wound was bleeding profusely and Sa`d died in his tent.

حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ أُصِيبَ سَعْدٌ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ فِي الأَكْحَلِ، فَضَرَبَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَيْمَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لِيَعُودَهُ مِنْ قَرِيبٍ، فَلَمْ يَرُعْهُمْ ـ وَفِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَيْمَةٌ مِنْ بَنِي غِفَارٍ ـ إِلاَّ الدَّمُ يَسِيلُ إِلَيْهِمْ فَقَالُوا يَا أَهْلَ الْخَيْمَةِ، مَا هَذَا الَّذِي يَأْتِينَا مِنْ قِبَلِكُمْ فَإِذَا سَعْدٌ يَغْذُو جُرْحُهُ دَمًا، فَمَاتَ فِيهَا.

Fortalt af Jabir: `Umar kom og forbandede de vantro (fra Quraish) på dagen for Al-Khandaq (slaget ved Trench) og sagde: 'Jeg kunne ikke bede `Asr-bønnen, før solen var gået ned. Så gik vi til Buthan, og han bad ('Asr)-bønnen efter solnedgang, og derefter bad han Maghrib-bønnen.

Narrated Jabir:`Umar came cursing the disbelievers (of Quraish) on the day of Al-Khandaq (the battle of Trench) and
said, "I could not offer the `Asr prayer till the sun had set. Then we went to Buthan and he offered the
(`Asr) prayer after sunset and then he offered the Maghrib prayer.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ـ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ـ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ جَعَلَ عُمَرُ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ يَسُبُّ كُفَّارَهُمْ وَقَالَ مَا كِدْتُ أُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ حَتَّى غَرَبَتْ. قَالَ فَنَزَلْنَا بُطْحَانَ، فَصَلَّى بَعْدَ مَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ.
